Put Friday 24 May 2019 in your diaries - it's #NationalLambDay

On 24 May 1882, the Dunedin arrived into London - after a 98 day voyage - to deliver the first shipment of New Zealand lamb. It was on this very day New Zealand lamb was shared with the rest of the world.

Fast forward to today and our lamb is internationally renowned and in high demand. Here's how we'll be celebrating this iconic day with our fellow Kiwis.

Lamb Is Universally Loved

Lamb is loved by all creeds and cultures the world over. From New Zealand to Namibia, Austria to Australia, lamb is a celebrated and enjoyed meat.

On this day when New Zealand first shared it's lamb with the rest of the world, we now want the rest of the world and their cultures to share their favourite lamb dishes with us.

We will be asking our followers to share their most treasured lamb recipes with us via our digital channels.

With New Zealand being such a multi-cultural society, our hope is to unearth those hidden gems that have been passed through generations that have a unique cultural twist.
